Our Privacy Policy will be in effect from 01 May 2026. This article summarises some of the key changes:
AI processing notice
The Policy has been updated to reflect our work with Large Language Models (LLMs). We do not pass any Personally Identifiable Information (PII) through LLMs. Where students submit work, for example through our Writing GENai tool, it is important they do not include PII. We have messaging in the platform to remind them of this, but it is the responsibility of the school, college or education provider to ensure that students do not include PII in submissions.
Clarity on what data we process
We have updated it to make it clearer for all stakeholders, particularly teachers and guardians. In particular it is now clear that we only ever process special category data (in this case SEN status and ethnicity) on the express instruction of the school, college or educational provider.
We have also made it clearer that data we hold as a data processor will be deleted six months after the end of a subscription. Data we hold as controller will be held for six years. Most user data, and almost all student data, we hold in our capacity as a processor. Please see the Privacy Policy for further detail.
