There are various ways you can use CENTURY when your whole class has access to a device, and some usage models you may like are:
Align with weekly lesson plans
Set your learners' nuggets to complete as either a starter, main activity or plenary and ask the learners to work through these nuggets independently. Once all of your learners have completed the nuggets, you can analyse the data in the Nuggets tab of the Teacher Dashboard to discover any class misconceptions. You can then use this data to inform your teaching and the homework that is being set.
Topic Diagnostics
When moving onto a new topic, set the topic diagnostic for your learners to complete in class. This will allow your learners' pathways to be updated to reflect their individual learning gaps in the topic and you will be able to view the topic misconceptions using the data from the Nuggets Tab.
Learners Dashboard
Learners can view their own Learner Dashboard and review their Strengths and Areas for Improvement. They can then pick a nugget linked to their Areas for Improvement and work through this nugget from their My Courses tab.
Cover Lessons
CENTURY can be used for a cover lesson if needed. A member of staff can set the class nuggets to align with the topics being taught for the learners to work through during the lesson. Or the class can work independently on their Recommended Pathway.
Support or extension work
If you have any gifted learners in your class, you can set them extension nuggets to work through. Let the learners know which nuggets to work through and they can search for them in their My Courses tab. The same can be done with a group of learners with a particular learning gap.
