Introduction to the Student Dashboard

TABLE OF CONTENTS

The Student Dashboard enables you to see each student’s performance across the courses they study as well as any assignments completed on CENTURY. This is also a good place to identify an individual student's strengths and areas of improvement.

To access this:

  1. Go to the Teacher Dashboard tab

  2. Click onto the 'Students' tab.

  3. You can then search for your student's name using the search bar

  4. Click on their name to go to their Student Dashboard.

You can also access the Student Dashboard by clicking on your student’s name in your Class Overview page.

Overview tab

On this page, you can see a summary of your student’s learning activity and performance on CENTURY. You can either view their overall progress, or view data by subject using the Subject filters at the top of the page.

Learning Activity

You can view how much time each student has spent completing work on CENTURY using the Learning Activity chart. This can be time stamped so you can monitor how long they have spent on the platform on a weekly, monthly or yearly basis.

Similarly, the Active Days section shows which days they have completed work within a given month.

This is an easy way to track a specific student’s usage and can be used during parents’ evenings or other student progress sessions.

Recently  Completed

The Recently Completed section shows the nuggets that your student has worked on most recently, along with the date they completed the nugget, their score and their total time spent on the nugget.

Click into a nugget to view more details on their attempt, including which questions they got right or wrong and the exact answers that were given. This is especially helpful to identify misconceptions or gaps in knowledge on an individual student level.

The Courses section displays a summary of each student’s progress in all of their assigned courses, including:

  • How much of the course they have completed

  • How much time they have spent on the course

  • Their average score so far

Clicking into a course will take you to its Course Overview page, which is further explained in the next section.

‘Focus on’ nugget

Finally, the Focus On section will suggest a nugget that will help your student to improve. These recommendations are generated according to their learning behaviours, and aim to fill gaps in knowledge based on nuggets in which they have previously achieved a low score.

You can view further recommendations for each subject in the Courses tab.

Courses tab

The Courses tab gives you more of an in-depth overview of your students' progress in a specific course. Start by choosing a course in the drop-down menu under your student’s name.

Overall learning activity

This page displays your student’s total course progress, including:

  • How many nuggets they’ve completed

  • Their overall average score

The Learning Activity graph is similar to the one on their Overview tab, but focused on their activity in this course only.

Nugget Tracker

The Nugget Tracker shows the results your student has achieved in their completed nuggets within this course. Clicking on each heading in the table will enable you to sort the results according to your preference, e.g. 'Last Attempt' or ‘Best Score’.

Tip: If your student has a low score on a nugget, encourage them to go for green by re-attempting it. To do so, you can either set them an assignment or get them to search for the nugget in My Courses to try again.

If you want to view their performance in a specific nugget, use the search box. To look at more in-depth information on their attempts, simply click on a nugget name to bring up further details, including the time they spent on learning materials and their responses to the questions.

TipNuggets generally take between 5 and 15 minutes to complete. If your student is spending less time on a nugget and achieving a low score, encourage them to spend more time on the learning material before answering the questions.

Nugget recommendations

By scrolling down the Dashboard, you can identify your student’s strengths and areas for improvement based on their nugget performance, as well as Focus and Stretch recommendations.

Focus recommendations aim to plug gaps in their knowledge and help them to improve in areas of a course they are finding difficult.

Stretch recommendations will challenge them and expand their abilities in areas that they are doing well in.

If you do not see any recommendations, your student will need to complete more work on CENTURY before our AI can reliably assess their performance and provide learning suggestions.

Tip: The more nuggets they complete, the more accurate CENTURY’s recommendations will become!

Use these recommendations to inform further interventions to support the student and areas they could access for independent learning. These nuggets could also appear in their Recommended Path as Focus On and Stretch With recommendations by CENTURY.

Assignments tab

The Assignments tab displays all of the assignments that your student has been set by all teachers. Here you can also view the assignment’s completion status and results.

You can filter the data by selecting a specific subjectteacher who set the assignment, or toggling between active and past assignments.

Click on any of the headings to sort the data accordingly, such as by subject or due date.

You can also change how you view the data by adjusting the table options, including colour-coding cells or toggling scores on / off.
