Reflect FAQs

What is Reflect?

  • Reflect is an automated marking and feedback tool that mirrors the output of a highly skilled teacher, without adding to teachers’ workload! It delivers accurate, consistent scores and detailed, personalised feedback in seconds, not hours.

How do I set work for my students?

  • Reflect works by using class codes. Create a task and share the class code with your students. All responses submitted using that class code will shown in the teacher’s My Task area.

Can I see my students’ submissions

  • When your students submit their responses via a code you provided then you can see all submissions with each student’s name, their scores, their essay and the feedback they were provided.

A student has submitted a task multiple times, what scores are shown?

  • The scores shown are for the student’s most recent attempt, you can look at all the data for each attempt by clicking onto the student, these will be listed with the most recent attempt at the top.

Can I see another teacher’s tasks?

  • No, teachers can only see the tasks they have set and the responses by students to their own tasks.

Why are certain responses not marked?

  • We do not mark responses for various reasons including; responses that do not answer the question set, responses that are too short and responses that contain concerning content. Teachers have access to the student submissions and can see whether they have been marked or not.

Is it in the platform?

  • No, you can log in via your CENTURY login but it sits separately from CENTURY for now

Will you cover areas other than KS3?

  • Currently our model is trained on responses from students in years 7-9 and is optimised for these age groups. We will soon be releasing a KS4 version which can be used with older students (years 10-11).

Will you link up with CENTURY?

  • We are hoping to at some point, but it will depend on feedback from our trial

Reflect - Limitations

Teachers

  • Teachers cannot edit tasks once they are set

Students

  • Students must enter a task code for a teacher to be able to see their responses.

  • Tasks are not saved when a student navigates away from it.

  • Students cannot see their data on prior tasks they have completed.
