Setting specific homework for different groups of learners

There are various ways you can use CENTURY for setting specific homework for different groups of learners, and some usage models you may like are:

Topic Diagnostics

  • When moving onto a new topic, set the topic diagnostic for your learners to complete as homework. This will allow your learners' pathways to be updated to reflect their individual learning gaps in the topic and you will be able to view the topic misconceptions using the data from the Nuggets Tab ahead of the next lesson. You can also set specific nuggets within a topic as homework to introduce your learners to the concept ahead of your lesson.

Align with weekly lesson plans

  • Set your learners' nuggets which align with your learning for that particular week and ask the learners to work through these nuggets. You can set different nuggets to groups of learners using Assignments depending on their understanding of the topic/concept. Once all of your learners have completed the nuggets, you can analyse the data in the Nuggets tab of the Teacher Dashboard to discover any class misconceptions across the nuggets and use this data to inform your teaching.

Past Exam Questions

  • Set groups learners different past exam questions using Task Assignments depending on their progress and predicted grades. You can use the homework to determine which areas of revision to focus on and set subsequent follow up nuggets for various learners to complete as further homework.

Revision Prep

  • Depending on your learners' areas of weakness in the run up to exams, set different groups of learners various topic diagnostics using Assignments so that their Pathway is updated to fill in their current learning gaps. You can then analyse the data in the Nuggets tab of the Teacher Dashboard to discover any class misconceptions and use this data to tailor your revision prep.

Catch up support

  • If you have learners who are off school due to travel or sickness, set them nuggets via Assignments on CENTURY to mirror what has been taught in class to ensure they are keeping on track with their work. You will be able to see when the work has been completed and the results on the Teacher Dashboard.
